Eye exam

The optometrists of Optika Eye Care Center have developed an expertise that allows them to adapt the eye exam to your visual needs. Your vision may seem perfect to you, but following their questionnaire and different tests, the optometrists can evaluate your actual visual performance. They measure the strength of your eyes, the type of necessary correction as well as the power of accommodation.

The optometrists examine all aspects of ocular health: dry eyes, redness and allergies. They also detect ocular diseases such as cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration. The optometrists of Optika Eye Care Center can prescribe ophthalmic drops to treat ocular infections or inflammation. They take a systematic approach to screening retinal diseases with the use of a digital retinal photo. The team works in conjunction with many local ophthalmologists and doctors. The optometrists can refer you to ophthalmologists when surgery is required. Both pre and post operative cataract surgery exams, as well as refractive surgery follow ups can be performed by our optometrists. The optometrists of Optika Eye Care Center are also able to complete the forms required by the SAAQ for the different types of driver’s licenses.
